Abraham, and Us
6/13/2001
“Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. He was ABSOLUTELY CONVINCED that God was able to do anything He promised. And because of Abraham’s faith, God declared him to be righteous. Now this wonderful truth—that God declared him to be righteous—wasn’t just for Abraham’s benefit. It was for US too, assuring us that God will also declare us to be righteous IF WE BELIEVE IN GOD, who brought Jesus our Lord back from the dead.” (Rom. 4:20-24)

Here's What Matters

“It’s not the stretch of life that matters. It’s the depth of life. It’s not how long we live. It’s how we live.” (Leonard Ravenhill) 9:24 a.m.
Good Morning Father—Lead Us Today, We Pray
8/28/2000
“Father, our eyes and ears and hearts are leaning into You this morning, for every word that proceeds from Your desires. Show us who to speak to of You and Your Kingdom in the workplace, who to stop everything and pray for, and who we are an extension of You to serve today. Melt us into YOUR attitudes and Your thoughts—and show us how to shed our own inclinations in those areas, as a caterpillar sheds his stale, dry skin. We want to FLY today, for You. Lead the way—we will follow. Good morning, Father.” 8:22 a.m.

Arguing About Lies
9/15/2010
Interesting from a news anchor yesterday…
“Why are the media (or bloggers or _______) bad? Because they make you argue about the lies, instead of talking about the truth.”
Human flesh is just SO DRAWN to discussing things we know are false just because they’re “sensational” or “interesting” or whatever. Slander or gossip or even “I can’t believe so and so said this; it’s so untrue,” and then getting energized about the lies, instead of turning to the TRUTH to be set free. Arguing about the lies just drags you down deeper and deeper to the level of the “father of all lies”…not a place i want to go!!—bg 12:18 a.m.
