Creation and All Life Produced and Directed By God

11/20/1999

A simple, but powerful truth has meant very much to me this week, as through it, God has clarified my Vision, Love and Devotion to Him many times: “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it....” (Ps. 24:1) Why so powerful?? Because it speaks of God’s COMPLETE and TOTAL ownership, sovereignty and power over the earth and ALL its inhabitants. HE is the One who orders all the workings of our lives, circumstances and relationships. HE is the One who determines who, what, where, when and how Life is worked out day to day. The Government and Final Say-so rests with HIM, not me!! HE is the One who decides and directs and determines and strengthens and provides Grace and Love to walk out His Will for our lives. He REALLY DOES!! So who am i to question, whine, second-guess, accuse when He is GOD and has EVERY RIGHT to call the shots EXACTLY the way He likes! The earth is THE LORD’s!!! And ALL WHO LIVE IN IT! Let’s together turn from all the downcastness, or striking out or blaming or groveling or aimlessness or selfishness—and instead, with a Light and a Hope and a Gleam in our eye, “follow the Lamb wherever He goes...” He reigns SUPREME!! With love, mary

Jesus' Glory—Full of Grace And Truth

12/13/2000

A brother today took a snow shovel out of the hands of a 75 year-old man. (The elderly gentleman “already had two ‘line dancing’ lessons earlier in the day and was tired. : )) After shoveling the man’s drive, the brother was careful to unbury their “festive lights” along the driveway. WHY? Why not leave them somewhat buried? Don’t those lights advertise an abominable and sacrilegious “holiday?” Yes. But the 75 year-old man didn’t know that. And that was NOT the issue just then. : ) Just food for thought: “And we beheld His glory, glory as the only begotten of the Father, full of *GRACE* **AND** *TRUTH*” (Jn. 1:14). 4:41 p.m.

This One Thing I Do!!!!!

Even the pagans know...

“I have always thought that one man of tolerable abilities may work great changes, and accomplish great affairs among mankind, if he first forms a good plan, and, cutting off all amusements or other employments that would DIVERT HIS ATTENTION, makes the execution of that same objective his SOLE study and business.” (Benjamin Franklin)

The Measure of a Life of Power With God

12/5/1997

GOD: “...even if these three men—Noah, Daniel, and Job...” (Ezek. 14:14,20) ...“Even if Moses and Samuel stood before Me...” (Jer. 15:1). “...David...a man after my heart...” (Acts 13:22).

Father has held out these men in a spectacular way, as if to say, “These guys are amongst my favorites of all human history. I listened to them in almost every circumstance!” WHY?? Why did God listen to them? WHY did they, by God’s OWN testimony, have a way with God that few have? Because they were “perfect?” I don’t think so. Read their stories! To a man, if you had lived in their era, and measured as men measure, you could have found MAJOR reasons to be critical of them. MAJOR. (In RETROSPECT we would, OF COURSE be impressed with them. What if we lived when they did? How would you have done then? Ask Aaron and Miriam how easy it was when you see them! : ))

How did God view those men? And WHY did God express such pleasure and confidence in them?? THAT ALONE is how we should measure life, in them, in others, in ourselves. Give it some thought. WHY did God honor these men, in spite of failings? What DID they have?? What DID they have???

1) How did they respond to their failings? (Mandatory point. Skip this one and you need go no further.)

2) What do you see in their lives and hearts that was different than the masses of people around them? How did they stand out that SO impressed God, in spite of their lapses?

What is it?? You’ve GOT to know!!! Find the secret!!!

"Why do the heathen raaaaaage?"

11/29/2007

A quote from an essay i read….

“This is a particularly keen insight into the human heart; namely, that we often strike out at others not because of the harm they have done us but because their goodness sheds light upon our own mistrustfulness.”—mere 12:11 p.m.
